Which watch data each score uses.
Your Pixel Watch syncs to Google Health. Baro reads these records from there:
- Overnight HRV
- Resting heart rate
- Heart rate
- Sleep and stages
- Workouts
- Zone minutes
Baro can only use what your watch sends to Google Health. If a record isn't there, Baro can't see it.
How the scores are built.
- ReadinessLast night's HRV, compared with up to 60 earlier nights with HRV, is the main input. Resting heart rate nudges it up or down. Sleeping under 85% of your sleep need pulls it down. Baro labels it High, Moderate or Low.
- StrainYour heart rate from when you wake up to when you next fall asleep, on a scale from 0 to 100. Strength workouts add to it. Its heart-rate part needs your sex set in your Baro profile.
- SleepTime asleep against the sleep you need. Once there are 30 nights to compare, it drops when you are awake longer or wake up more often than usual.
These are Baro's own calculations, done on your phone. They are estimates for general fitness, not a diagnosis.
How many nights before scores start.
- ReadinessHRV from the night being scored, plus at least 14 earlier nights with HRV. Until there are 14, the HRV row shows the count, for example 5/14 nights.
- Resting HRIts nudge needs a resting heart rate for that day and at least 14 earlier ones. Otherwise it is left out.
- SleepStarts once there is an earlier night to compare with. The check for waking up more than usual waits for 30 nights.
- StrainWorks day by day from heart rate. Its suggested range is broad at first and becomes personal as your strain history builds.
- HistoryBaro reads up to six months of past Google Health data. If your watch already has that history, scores can show up once it syncs.
What happens with missing data.
- No HRV last night.Baro shows no Readiness for that day. It doesn't guess from the other inputs.
- No HRV in Google Health at all.Readiness says it needs HRV. Sleep, resting heart rate and Strain still show.
- No resting heart rate.Readiness runs on HRV and sleep alone. The resting heart rate part is left out, not filled in.
- A night wasn't recorded. There is no Sleep score for that night.
- Strain can't be calculated.Strain's heart-rate part needs your sex set in your Baro profile. When Baro can't calculate Strain for a day, it estimates it from Google's zone minutes, if there are any, and labels it as an estimate.
What it looks like.

Questions.
Does Baro have a recovery score for Pixel Watch?
Yes. Baro calls it Readiness. It is built mostly from last night's HRV, compared with up to 60 earlier nights with HRV. It needs HRV from last night and at least 14 earlier nights with HRV.
Do I have to wait 14 days after installing?
Not always. Baro reads up to six months of past Google Health data, and those nights count. If Google Health already has 14 earlier nights with HRV, Readiness can start once they sync and last night has HRV too.
What if my watch misses a night?
Baro shows no Readiness and no Sleep score for that night instead of guessing. Your other data still shows.
Is it the same as Google's Readiness?
No. Baro calculates its own scores on your phone from your Google Health data, so the numbers won't match Google's.
